Financial Crimes Enforcement Network

FinCEN is part of the United States Department of the Treasury.  Its mission is to:

 “…safeguard the financial system from illicit use and combat money laundering and promote national security through the collection, analysis, and dissemination of financial intelligence and strategic use of financial authorities.” 

The FinCEN website is informative and provides a wealth of information related to the Bank Secrecy Act (the Act under with which dealers in Precious Metals and Jewels must comply).

Bank Secrecy Act E-Filing System

With the exception of the 1099-b, forms 8300 and Suspicious Activities Reports (SAR) must be filed electronically.  To file electronically you will need to set up an account.  Here is a link to setting up an account:

Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) Database

The OFAC database lists foreign individuals and entities with which you may not conduct business.

The Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA)

ICTA is a lobby group for the numismatic, paper money and precious metals industry.  The site has information about legislation and regulations that impact dealers in precious metals and stones.
